London startup MintNeuro has raised $5 million to expand its specialised semiconductor platform for neural devices. Odyssey Ventures led the round, with backing from investors including 33East and JSK Alumni.
The company develops purpose-built chips intended for applications such as implantable and wearable neural technology. Its platform approach aims to give device developers reusable building blocks, reducing the need to design every electronic component from the beginning for each product.
That is a specialised infrastructure opportunity within a technically demanding market. Neural devices face constraints around power consumption, size and signal handling, while their developers must also consider the requirements of the finished system. A component supplier can become valuable if its technology simplifies those design decisions without limiting performance.
MintNeuro plans to use the financing to scale its platform and support wider engagement with partners. The funding is a development milestone, not evidence that every device using its chips has secured approval or reached patients. Commercial progress will depend on successful integration into partner products and the ability to support those products through lengthy development cycles.
