Nauta Capital secures €60 million first close for sixth fund
London venture capital firm Nauta Capital reached a €60 million first close for its sixth fund, anchored by a €30 million commitment from the British Business Bank.

London-based venture capital firm Nauta Capital secured a €60 million first close for its sixth fund on October 15, 2026, to back early-stage business software and deep technology startups across the UK and Continental Europe.
The British Business Bank anchored the raise with a €30 million commitment, the firm announced. The investment marks the fourth consecutive Nauta fund backed by the UK economic development bank.
"Our long-standing partnership with Nauta Capital demonstrates the role the British Business Bank can play in attracting international investors to the UK," said Michael Laycock, investment director for funds at the British Business Bank. "Since our first commitment, Nauta Capital has built a substantial presence in London and established the UK as a core investment market for them."
Additional limited partners in the first close include SETT, Merifin Capital, and Institut Català de Finances. Institutional investors and family offices across the UK, Continental Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East also participated. Returning investors accounted for approximately 75% of the total commitments in this round.
Fund strategy and portfolio
Nauta writes initial checks between €250,000 and €4 million for pre-Seed to Series A companies. The strategy focuses on capital-efficient business software startups targeting sectors such as travel, finance, retail, and human resources.
The firm will also operate its dedicated Labs initiative within the same fund structure to support pre-Seed technology companies. That program targets high-performance computing, cybersecurity, industrial automation, digital health infrastructure, and energy frontier technology.
Founded in 2004, Nauta has backed over 200 founders across 100 companies, generating nearly €3 billion in exit value through more than 25 exits. Previous exits include Brandwatch, Holded, and Connectbase.
The firm's portfolio includes Universal Quantum, which raised €89 million in Series A funding earlier this month, and Berlin-based cybersecurity firm NetBird, which previously raised €8.5 million in a Series A round. Other portfolio companies include travel platforms Unravel and Acai Travel, as well as property management platform Lodgify.
"Having invested through every major technology shift since the early 2000s, we’ve learned that enduring venture firms are built on discipline, adaptability and long-term conviction," said Carles Ferrer Roqueta, general partner at Nauta.
