ICON raises $200 million in Series D round for robotic construction
ICON secured $200 million in Series D funding co-led by Baillie Gifford and BlackRock-managed funds to scale its multi-story robotic construction technology and open an Austin research facility.

Austin-based robotic construction company ICON raised $200 million in Series D financing on Oct. 15, 2026, to scale manufacturing and deployment of its multi-story 3D-printing systems. Baillie Gifford and funds managed by BlackRock co-led the investment round.
Several other investment firms participated in the financing, including Capital Factory, CAZ Investments, Moderne Ventures, Moonshots Capital, Norwest, Overmatch Ventures, The Syndicate, and Tiger Global, according to a report by PropTech Connect.
ICON plans to use the funds to initiate production and manufacturing of Titan, its multi-story robotic construction system, at its factory in Austin, Texas. The company will also open a large-scale research and development facility in Austin and expand its operations across Texas, Florida, Washington D.C., and new U.S. markets.
The Titan print system is designed to build housing faster and at a lower cost than traditional methods. According to data reported by PropTech Connect, Titan cuts average home construction time by six weeks and reduces costs by 40 percent compared to national averages.
The investment will also support the advancement of ICON's proprietary 3D-printing building material, FormCrete, as well as Olympus, a technology system designed to construct habitats on Earth and in space. FormCrete walls are engineered to withstand wind speeds of over 175 miles per hour, compared to 40 miles per hour for traditional stick frames, and carry a fire rating of more than two hours versus 30 minutes for standard building methods.
"Construction automation has crossed from potential into proven reality," Jason Ballard, co-founder and CEO of ICON, said in a statement. "This round puts that reality in builders' hands: more Titan systems deployed across the country, deeper capability in housing, commercial, and defense, and continued work on the technology that will one day build humanity's first structures beyond Earth. I believe we can imagine an end to the global housing crisis in our lifetime. We are grateful to the partners, builders, and investors who believed in this mission long enough to see it arrive."
