Yuanli Energy raises over 100 million dollars in Series B round

Hefei Yuanli Zhonghe Energy Technology, an energy management startup operating under the name Yuanli Energy, secured more than $100 million in a Series B financing round, according to a report published by Dealroom News on Oct. 19, 2026. The transaction provided several hundred million yuan to the Chinese virtual power plant operator.

The financing round received backing from two local investment funds, the Hefei Renchuang Phase IV Venture Investment Partnership and the Hefei Renxin Venture Investment Partnership. Both partnerships joined the round to finance the company's planned technical expansion and commercial deployment.

Founded in 2021, Yuanli Energy operates a centralized software platform that pools and coordinates multiple utility resources. The company's platform aggregates electricity supplies, heating systems, cooling operations, gas distribution networks, and water infrastructure. By combining these decentralized utility networks, the platform allows industrial and commercial operations to manage power loads across urban and industrial zones.

Management plans to allocate the fresh capital across four core initiatives, according to the report. The money will fund ongoing product development, the training of specialized vertical models for the energy sector, regional expansion into new territorial markets, and direct capital investments into energy assets.

The Series B round marks a scale-up in funding for the Hefei-based company. Yuanli Energy previously completed a Series A funding round in 2023, where it raised several tens of millions of yuan to support its initial platform architecture and early regional deployments.

National Grid Policy

The equity investment arrives as Chinese government authorities shift virtual power plant operations away from isolated pilot programs and into standard, full-scale market operations. Regulators are establishing market structures that allow aggregated virtual power resources to participate in regional energy trade and grid balancing operations alongside traditional power generation facilities.

China's central planning agencies have established specific operational benchmarks for the industry over the coming years. The National Development and Reform Commission and the National Energy Administration have mandated targets to establish more than 20 million kilowatts of adjustable virtual power capacity nationwide by 2027.

Longer-term policy directives outlined by Chinese energy planners project further growth for the industry over the next decade. National target frameworks specify that total virtual power plant capacity in China must exceed 50 million kilowatts by 2030, providing a regulatory backdrop for continued venture investment into grid management technologies.
