Voyage Care completes acquisition of Orchard Healthcare Group

UK specialist care provider Voyage Care completed its acquisition of Orchard Healthcare Group on Oct. 13, 2026. Financial terms and deal valuation were not disclosed, according to advisory filings released by corporate finance firm Alantra.

Voyage Care, which is backed by Wren House Infrastructure, provides specialist care and support services across the United Kingdom. Voyage Care stated that the acquisition expands its community care platform to meet growing demand for complex care services nationwide.

Care Framework and Operations

Orchard Healthcare Group is a specialist healthcare provider that delivers community-based residential care for individuals with complex needs, including dementia and complex mental health conditions. The company delivers services through a care framework known as the Reconnect model.

Alantra stated that Orchard developed its Reconnect model specifically to support patients with complex care requirements and address demand in an underserved segment of the care market. Orchard will continue to operate under its established brand identity and service framework as a division within the expanded corporate group.

The combination brings together two specialist care organisations with complementary operational capabilities, geographic reach, and care expertise. Voyage Care and Orchard stated that the joint structure will allow both companies to share operational expertise, invest in care services, and increase the number of individuals supported across their networks.

Transaction Background and Advisory Mandates

Investment bank Alantra served as the sole sell-side financial advisor to the shareholders of Orchard Healthcare Group throughout the transaction. The transaction team was led by Justin Crowther, Managing Director at Alantra.

Alantra managed the transaction process, which included transaction preparation, developing an equity story for the business, evaluating strategic options, and running a competitive transaction process. Voyage Care Chief Executive Mike McKessar stated the deal gives Voyage Care a platform to scale specialist dementia care services.

Justin Crowther, Managing Director at Alantra, said: "Orchard has built a highly differentiated complex care platform with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality outcomes. We are pleased to have supported the shareholders in identifying a partner that shares Orchard’s commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred care and is well-positioned to support the business through its next phase of growth."

The deal represents part of Alantra's broader transaction activity within specialist care, social care, and healthcare real assets. Alantra previously advised iBC Healthcare on securing an investment and development debt facility for its growth phase, and advised Endurance Capital on its majority investment in Forge Care.

Alantra's recent transaction history in the UK care sector also includes advising Outcomes First Group on the carve-out and sale of its adult residential services division to Achieve together. In addition, the firm advised McGoff Group on selling New Care to HIG Capital-backed Lovett Care, and advised Ideal Carehomes on its sale to care operator HC-One.
