GaNBright raises $13.8 million in seed-plus round for GaN laser chips

Chinese semiconductor company GaNBright completed a $13.8 million seed-plus funding round on October 13, 2026, according to a report by Dealroom News. The company plans to use the new funds to expand production capacity for its gallium nitride laser chips.

The funding round included financial backing from three investment entities: Wuhan Heguang Tongxin, Suzhou Venture Capital, and Suzhou Gaoxin Huiyan Xinyu. The completion of this investment round brings GaNBright's cumulative funding to date to more than $13.8 million.

GaNBright was established in May 2023 to focus on the research, development, and manufacturing of gallium nitride, or GaN, laser chips. The company designs and produces chips that function as specialized semiconductor light sources.

According to company specifications, GaNBright manufactures laser chips that feature high energy-conversion efficiency. The products are also designed to maintain long-term performance stability when operating in commercial and industrial hardware.

The gallium nitride laser chips built by GaNBright are used across several distinct market sectors. In visual hardware and illumination, the chips serve as light sources for display systems and high-brightness lighting applications.

In industrial manufacturing, GaNBright's laser chips are utilized in machinery for non-ferrous metal processing. The semiconductor components are also integrated into additive manufacturing setups as light sources for 3D printing equipment.

In high-precision manufacturing, the chips are deployed in digital lithography systems. The capital commitment from Wuhan Heguang Tongxin, Suzhou Venture Capital, and Suzhou Gaoxin Huiyan Xinyu reflects continued investment support for China's domestic photonics supply chain.
