Apros Group takes operational control of CYPFER as CEO steps down

Apros Group founder Jason J. Hogg has assumed full operational control of cybersecurity firm CYPFER as chief executive officer following the departure of former chief executive Daniel Tobok, the company announced on October 13, 2026. The executive transition follows Apros Group's 100 percent acquisition of CYPFER in August 2026 and the subsequent completion of full operational integration between the two organizations.

According to an announcement distributed by Business Wire, Tobok separated from all operational and board roles at CYPFER as part of the leadership change. Tobok had previously served as chief executive officer of the cybersecurity company prior to the completion of the acquisition and operational handover to Apros Group.

Hogg, who founded Apros Group, took over full operational control of the enterprise as CEO. Before taking on full operational command of CYPFER, Hogg served as executive chairman of the company. He had also served as an external advisor to CYPFER before Apros Group completed the 100 percent buyout of the cybersecurity firm in August 2026.

Hogg brings prior leadership experience in federal law enforcement and corporate risk management to the chief executive role. He previously served as a Special Agent for the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Additionally, Hogg served as Global Chief Executive Officer of Aon Cyber Solutions Group before founding Apros Group and taking control of CYPFER.

Audit and expansion strategy

Following the 100 percent acquisition in August 2026 and the completion of full operational integration, Apros Group initiated an internal review of the business. A multi-year financial audit and operational review are currently ongoing at CYPFER to evaluate financial records and operational procedures across the company.

To support its corporate objectives, CYPFER is expanding both its executive leadership team and its advisory board. The expansion of the executive leadership team and advisory board is aimed at accelerating the company's global incident response expansion under the direction of Apros Group.

CYPFER continues to manage its international business from two primary locations, maintaining corporate headquarters in Toronto and Miami. The firm's corporate headquarters in Toronto and Miami will support the ongoing global incident response expansion as the firm operates under Hogg's full operational control.

The separation of Tobok from all board and operational positions, the ongoing multi-year financial audit, and the expansion of executive leadership form the latest phase of Apros Group's full takeover of CYPFER following the August 2026 acquisition.
