UK and Ukraine open defense business center in Kyiv for small suppliers

The UK government and the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine established a specialized defense business center in Kyiv on October 9, 2026, to connect British defense suppliers directly with local market requirements.

The facility is the first specialized business center of its kind in Kyiv. It operates as a permanent platform for industrial cooperation between UK defense contractors and the Ukrainian defense sector, military news outlet Militarnyi reported. The center specifically targets small and medium-sized enterprises, or SMEs, working in defense and technology.

A consortium of three companies manages the daily operations of the Kyiv center. The managing group consists of British firm Audere Group, AMS Global Solutions, and Hillmont Partners.

The business center bases its operations on three primary functional pillars. These core pillars are industrial scaling, innovation transfers, and joint venture investments. Through these focus areas, the platform seeks to facilitate joint projects and investment flows between British tech companies and Ukrainian defense partners.

A central purpose of the platform is to lower administrative and security barriers for British defense technology companies entering Ukraine. By maintaining a physical presence in Kyiv, the center offers direct support for small and medium-sized suppliers seeking to work within local regulatory structures and respond to operational needs.

The project receives official support from the British National Armaments Director Group. The entity works alongside both the UK Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine to maintain the industrial cooperation platform.
